This organisation is working for the welfare of children with special needs. The atmosphere at the foundation is homey, warm and nurturing. This service offered by Fundacion Integrar is not often addressed by government social services funding. The foundation has therapists and teachers that work half days with the children, who receive care in the areas of motor skill coordination and therapy, physical therapy, early intervention, meals, language therapy, horseback riding therapy and hydrotherapy. In 2004 a group for teenagers was also started where they receive lessons in art and wood working, and how to help themselves adjust society.

Volunteers must be of age 18 or above with minimum education of high school. Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:- Volunteers can work directly with these special children providing orientation for the different groups of children, learning about the children and getting to know them, facilitating and participating in group activities in music, theatre, handicrafts and dance, helping with mealtimes and teaching appropriate behaviour, helping once a week at the pool, and helping with horsebackriding. Volunteer for Silais Health clinic in Nicaragua

Silais health clinics are government competency for the low income population. These clinics are located throughout the country. Their main objective is to provide basic health care, standard first aid, and providing continuation through pregnancy and post-delivery women, since 50% of pregnant women are under age. They also attend to newborns on follow up of their vaccines, and illness. Coordinate day’s journey on vaccination for the entire population, and provide the medication for different illness such as diarrhea, flu, lung infection, minor cuts and surgery. Another interesting fact is that the hospital offers pre-natal counseling on how to go through a healthy pregnancy, since in Carazo is the highest range of pre-natal death in Nicaragua

Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:- 1- to assist doctors in hands-on work with patients. 2- help the population to understand the importance of preventing disease. 3- psychologist: we need seminars for the staff. 4- nurse training for the staff. 5- training in computer data base design and general programming. Volunteers must be of age 24 or above with minimum education of Undergraduation.

These clinics are located throughout the country but the main location is in Diriamba. Their main objective is to provide basic health care, standard first aid, pre- and post-natal care to pregnant women (usually teenagers) and their infants. They also provide vaccinations and medications and serve as an emergency room for minor injuries and surgery.

The main focus of this organization is conservation, community development and providing education to promote sustainable tourism. Fundacion Cocibolca is working towards teaching the local population how to protect this rain forest and provide an alternative source of income for the local community. In the conservation area we need volunteers to come and help in a variety of tasks such as data collecting, environmental science, biology, renewable energy etc. Any help in this field would be more than welcome. If you are serious about volunteering, and willing to teach different skills, along with having an enjoyable time, then this is the place to come. Since our Foundation also runs “La Flor” national reserve, a sea turtle santuary, you might also be requested to help out in this area as well. Mombacho needs English teachers for the tour guides (who are drawn from the local communities). They are working to preserve the natural beauty of this location. In order to do this effectively, they need to show the population living in the surrounding areas that tourism is another way to earn a living. They have discovered that tourism is an excellent way to preserve the flora and fauna of this beautiful place. Bilingual tour guides would help the reserve cater to the many English-speaking visitors they receive
